Chapter 2 Challenges
·
Chapter 2 Challenge 6 centers on completing the chapter without alerting anyone. Eric, Rachel, and Tanya are the key targets discussed in player routes. Update to 1.0.2 before retrying: the developer fixed executions incorrectly counting as alerts.
Challenge 6: Plan the Route
The official patch confirms the execution-related bug. It does not publish one mandatory target order or require Hard difficulty.
A first-hand route discussion suggests Eric, then Rachel, then Tanya, hiding earlier bodies and leaving Rachel's nearby friends alone. Treat this as a route to test, not a guaranteed script.
- Read the current objective before starting.
- Watch each target's patrol before approaching.
- Build the required Stalk without stepping into a witness's view.
- Grab from behind when the target stops or faces away.
- Consider whether the next patrol will find a body before moving on.
- Finish the chapter and check saved completion.
Target-Specific Timing
| Target | Community approach | Avoid |
|---|---|---|
| Eric | Prepare around his door movement and approach while his attention is elsewhere | Waiting in his direct sightline |
| Rachel | Observe her cemetery route and approach at a grave while she faces away | Attacking companions merely because they are nearby |
| Tanya | Watch her response to the power being cut and choose a rear approach | Appearing in front of her during the approach |
Players discussing successful and failed attempts describe these timing windows. Their results also show why a precise door-animation exploit should not be treated as required gameplay.
Does “Surprise” Mean Success?
Not necessarily. Players report both failure after Surprise notifications and success without seeing that notification for every victim. It is useful feedback about a particular action, not proof that the entire chapter's no-alert condition or saved result has passed.
Do not restart solely because one XP message is missing if the target did not visibly react. Conversely, do not assume three Surprise messages guarantee completion. The completion menu is the check that matters for the reward.
Slab's Urinating Objective
Players discussing the chapter describe following Slab promptly after the cemetery cutscene to catch the urinating animation. This is a time-sensitive opportunity, not simply a kill anywhere in the cemetery.
Keep this attempt separate from diagnosing Challenge 6. A missed animation window and an incorrectly counted alert are different failure cases. Some community posts call this the third chapter because they count Prologue; use the target and objective text to identify the correct guide.
If It Still Fails
Do one controlled post-update attempt before adopting pre-patch advice. There is no established requirement here to change upscaling, skip no cutscenes, or play on Hard. Record target order, visible alerts, execution types, and whether a completion notification appeared. Those details make a report more useful than repeating “all three kills were clean.”
