Challenges
Chapter 1 Challenges
·
Chapter 1 is the Red Rabbit chapter. Before leaving an encounter, check side rooms and distinguish residents from the main targets. Players repeatedly report finishing the visible fights while missing a person or losing the completed run at the ending.
Documented Objectives and Attempts
| Task reported by players | What to check |
|---|---|
| Kill everyone at the Red Rabbit | Revisit the bathrooms after the relevant cutscene |
| Kill three residents | Count residents separately from the chapter's principal targets |
| Pool-stick and thrown-cleaver attempts | Read the exact weapon/action requirement before spending the weapon |
| Finish and retain challenge progress | Compare the end notification with the chapter-selection menu |
Available reports do not reliably establish every challenge number. This page does not assign numbers to those rows.
Red Rabbit: The Easily Missed Target
In a chapter discussion, a player identifies a woman in the bathrooms after the biker's cutscene as an easily missed kill-all target. The same discussion corrects a common mix-up: Red Rabbit is Chapter 1, while Tanya, Rachel, and Eric belong to Chapter 2.
Practical route advice: finish the immediate encounter, check the bathroom area, and then make one deliberate sweep before advancing. Repeating only the main fight will not help if the missing condition concerns someone outside it.
Residents and Weapons
A September 12 discussion describes a three-resident objective that appeared not to count. Do not turn that into a requirement for a special resident execution: the report does not establish one.
Another first-hand run report describes pool-stick kills followed by a thrown cleaver while attempting the chapter's challenges. Use that as a reason to inspect weapon-specific instructions before fighting, not as a complete verified six-challenge route.
If you are testing a weapon condition, avoid combining it with a speed run. First identify the correct item, then preserve enough targets to try the required action. A thrown weapon and a melee strike with the same object should not be assumed equivalent.
When the Ending Repeats
The same September 9 report describes a chapter replaying after a multi-challenge run. September 11 players also report disagreement between in-run completion and the main menu, while others report success.
That is evidence of player-reported persistence trouble, not proof that every Chapter 1 objective is broken on 1.0.2. If an objective visibly completes but is absent after returning to the menu, record both screens and your version. Stop changing your combat route until you know whether the failure is execution or saving.
