The physical-edition FAQ names PS5 and Xbox Series X for the October 6, 2026 disc release, which has now happened. Digital copies have been available since the September launch. A disc requires compatible disc-reading hardware, so check the exact console model and drive configuration before ordering.

Is Halloween: The Game Cross-Platform?

Yes. Crossplay lets PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Steam and Epic PC players share multiplayer matches. The Xbox Store lists cross-platform multiplayer, Epic lists Cross Platform, and the official Patch 1.0.1 notes document a fix for mixed-platform party members following their leader into matchmaking.

Is Halloween: The Game on PS4 or PS5?

PS5: yes. PS4: no announced version. The official PS5 store listing confirms the current PlayStation release. PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch do not appear on the reviewed official platform list. That does not predict future ports; check the official news page for any later announcements.

PS5: online play and controller features

The US PlayStation Store lists a PS5 version, one-player support and up to five online players. It also states that PS Plus is required for online play and lists DualSense vibration and trigger-effect support.

The online subscription requirement does not mean every mode is multiplayer. A standalone singleplayer story is separately described in the store. Nor does support for five online players mean five cooperative Civilians: the match format is one Michael Myers against four Civilian players.

Xbox Series X and Series S

Xbox Series X|S: yes. Xbox One: no announced version. Buying an Xbox digital copy should not be assumed to provide Xbox One compatibility or a Windows PC copy. Use the store listing for your exact device before paying.

The US Xbox Store lists Xbox Series X|S support. It says console online multiplayer requires a qualifying Game Pass subscription, sold separately; the listing currently names Essential, Premium or Ultimate.

A subscription requirement for console multiplayer does not mean the game is included in that subscription's game catalogue. This page makes no Game Pass inclusion claim. Confirm the current entitlement text on your regional store before paying.

Patch 1.0.4 changed Xbox graphics settings on September 26: Series S now uses one 30 FPS mode without a Quality/Performance toggle; Series X received Performance Mode adjustments. PC: Steam versus Epic

Both stores list Windows, with requirements covered in the PC specifications comparison.

Is Halloween: The Game on Mac or Linux?

No native macOS or Linux version is listed in the reviewed PC storefronts. A Windows PC release does not establish a Mac release, and an unverified compatibility workaround is not official platform support. No Steam Deck performance or compatibility result has been verified here.

Use the Steam page or Epic listing to check your chosen store's current controller and language support. Those store-specific features do not establish native support for additional operating systems.

Cross-Progression and Cross-Save

Crossplay does not establish shared progress. No cross-progression or cross-save policy between PlayStation, Xbox, Steam and Epic is confirmed in the official sources reviewed. Steam Cloud alone would not establish transfers to consoles or Epic. See the cross-save evidence and limitations before assuming a second copy will carry over your unlocks.

Regional availability needs its own check

US listings should not be used to promise a Japanese PS5 release. An August 30 official developer statement on X, quoted in a news report, said the Japanese PS5 release was cancelled after a domestic rating could not be obtained. At that time, the developer still planned a September 9 digital launch for Xbox and PC in Japan; this historical announcement does not verify their current regional store availability.

Direct X retrieval was unavailable during the earlier regional research; that regional note relies on the reproduced developer statement, not a direct reading of the original post. Buyers in other regions should also verify their own store rather than infer availability from the US pages.
