Chapter 3 Challenges

·

For Chapter 3's neighborhood challenge, do not confuse killing the main targets with clearing the residents. Plan a systematic sweep before taking the escape, then verify that the chapter menu retained the result.

Challenge 6: Kill All Neighborhood Residents

A first-hand September 9 report explicitly identifies Chapter 3 Challenge 6 as killing all residents in the neighborhood. The player saw a completion icon but did not retain the challenge.

That report establishes both the reported objective and an important distinction: failing to find a resident is not the same problem as completing the objective and losing the result. It does not establish a reliable total resident count, so this guide does not invent one.

A Practical Sweep Method

Use a repeatable search order rather than circling whichever street feels busiest:

  1. Start with the block you have already entered and finish its accessible interiors.
  2. Check side rooms and hiding areas before moving to the next building.
  3. Keep a simple record of buildings cleared; mark a location uncertain if someone fled.
  4. Revisit uncertain locations before committing to the exit.
  5. Watch for the objective notification, then check the saved result after finishing.

This is search advice, not a verified spawn-by-spawn route. Avoid relying on an exact number from a multiplayer match: a story chapter's targets and conditions must be checked separately.

Undetected Escape and Kill-All Attempts

Another player report describes escaping undetected with all residents dead, followed by a reset to Michael's house. If your current menu lists an undetected condition, preserve it while moving between areas; a successful kill-all sweep alone does not demonstrate stealth.

For learning, isolate the conditions. First understand where residents remain; then improve the route's exposure and body placement. Trying to diagnose missing targets, witnesses, and save persistence in the same run makes the outcome ambiguous.

A Trophy Can Unlock Without Saved Chapter Progress

In a separate September 9 account, a player received a Steam achievement while the chapter restarted and retained no progress. That is a report of desynchronization, not confirmation that all current platforms share the same bug.

Keep the achievement notification, in-game challenge notification, and chapter-menu status as three separate observations. If only the platform achievement remains, report the missing game progress rather than trying to unlock the trophy again.

Current Version Context

These detailed reset reports predate 1.0.2. The official patch improves challenge consistency but does not name a Chapter 3 reset fix. Neither “still broken for everyone” nor “fully fixed” follows from that evidence.

Update, restart, and test a short controlled attempt. Do not delete saves or repeatedly grind a full sweep if the chapter continues looping.
