Halloween: The Game Patch Notes & Updates
Quick Answer
The latest official Halloween: The Game patch is 1.0.4, released September 26, 2026, checked against the official news index on September 27. It corrects grab problems introduced by 1.0.3 and adds Xbox and Loomis-related stability fixes. The game released on September 8; older patch entries below are history, not separate current versions.
This is a rolling summary of changes that affect play. Future confirmed updates belong on this same page; unannounced patch numbers and dates are not release promises.
Patch 1.0.4 — September 26
The official 1.0.4 notes correct excessive grab escape difficulty at Bloodthirst Level 3 and unintended fall damage after struggling free on uneven ground. They do not remove Bloodthirst or guarantee an escape. See how to struggle free.
Xbox Series X receives Performance Mode adjustments. Series S now uses one graphics profile capped at 30 FPS, replacing the Quality/Performance toggle. A Loomis-spawn performance/crash issue and additional loading/Story Mission crashes were addressed. These are specific fixes, not a claim that every crash is solved; use crash troubleshooting if problems persist.
Dated grant: the September 26 announcement grants 10,000 Perk Points to current players. It does not establish a permanent entitlement for future new accounts. Keep this separate from normal Perk Point earnings and spending.
Patch 1.0.3 — September 22
The official 1.0.3 notes changed several launch-era assumptions:
- Civilian melee and high-stat Capability bonuses were toned down; lower-stat melee effectiveness improved. Michael gained more Bloodthirst resistance and temporary protection after getting up from a down.
- Wood Axe/Pick-Axe damage and combo speed decreased. Athleticism movement scaling narrowed the gap between high and low values.
- Struggling at Stalk Tiers 0–2 was made easier, while the Pocket Knife minigame became harder. Read these changes together with the corrective 1.0.4 entry above.
- Progressive Challenge goals changed. Progress already above a revised goal needs another qualifying action to complete it. Passive Challenges can progress after Prestige despite a remaining locked-looking UI.
- Shape Jump and Killer Sense match-long cooldown lockouts were fixed. Regular Residents became more valuable relative to Special Targets in scoring.
Use the Challenges hub for selected exact requirements and Michael reference for the current loadout context.
Patch 1.0.2 — September 11
Patch 1.0.2 restored Prestige Challenges and repaired the active-challenge matchmaking blocker. A same-day follow-up addressed missing Weapon Prestige criteria and instructed players to restart. Unclear objective wording was still acknowledged.
Other changes included early Michael resistance buffs, weaker upper-tier Lethal Pitch, fewer map-spawned grab escape items, and fixes to spectator XP and Loomis Reinforcements. Later 1.0.3 balance changes supersede launch-era combat comparisons. The police respawn guide distinguishes the reinforcement card from the separate 1.0.4 Loomis performance fix.
Launch and Patch 1.0.1 — September 8
The launch announcement confirms the September 8 release and day-one patch. Cross-platform parties were corrected to follow the leader into matchmaking. Escape discovery range and Resident/Police pathing improved, alongside challenge fixes and stamina adjustments.
Civilian decks gained a two-copy limit per identical perk. The announcement also offered 5,000 Perk Points to eligible Early Access players; that historical grant is not the September 26 grant. See crossplay, escape preparation, and Perk Deck rules for focused guidance.
Announced Plans Are Not Released Features
The September 17 development update discussed an early-October quality-of-life update and further improvements. Several listed problems were subsequently addressed in 1.0.3/1.0.4. Remaining plans have no additional confirmed release number or exact date in the sources checked here.
For an unresolved issue, record the installed version, platform, objective text, and steps that reproduce it before contacting official support. A dated community complaint alone does not establish the status of the current build.
